Ali-shah Jivraj is a 27-year-old Ugandan entrepreneur; founder and CEO of a $15 million (annual revenues) company called Royal Electronics. He made it on the Forbes “30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa 2015” list representing not only his country, but the African continent.
The company assembles and distributes electronic home appliances such as television sets, radios, speakers, and DVD players under the ‘Royal’ brand; with the target market being medium and low income earners in Uganda, Sudan, Rwanda and the DRC. Five years ago, Royal Electronics was ranked 7th in KPMG’s annual ranking of the top 100 mid-sized companies in Uganda. He also owns a property development firm which is developing more than 50 residential apartments in Kampala.
